Some thoughts that have occurred to me while painting:
- I almost always get something done when I go to the studio.
- When I’m painting I don’t consciously think about influences.
- I always listen to music while I paint and it probably influences what I do.
- Some of the best stuff happens quickly and sometimes the first gestural take is all that it should be, and it’s time to stop. Other times I “work it.”
- I know I’ve done something good when I don’t care what anyone else might think.
